Woodland Management - High Wycombe
Working in partnership with The Chiltern Rangers, we were commissioned to carry out a large-scale woodland management project in High Wycombe at one of their sites. The woodland is predominantly made up of mature Beech trees, with a variety of other native species throughout the site.
The primary aim of the project was to address a growing safety concern, as several large Beech trees had become unsafe and required removal. Our experienced team of professional tree surgeons carefully planned and carried out the works to reduce risk while protecting the surrounding woodland environment.
Due to the challenging terrain and scale of the project, we utilised specialist equipment including cherry pickers, tracked chippers, and diggers fitted with log grabs. This allowed us to complete the works safely, efficiently, and with minimal impact on the wider woodland. For public safety, sections of nearby public footpaths were temporarily closed, and the positive feedback from neighbouring residents following completion was extremely rewarding.
Wherever possible, we retained and enhanced natural habitats, leaving behind deadwood and installing bird and bat boxes throughout the area. The site was then handed back to The Chiltern Rangers as a safe, thriving woodland, rich in wildlife and ready to naturally regenerate.
